7 Keys to Identify the Drunken Woman and the Beast
We often talk about the “mark of the beast”, wondering if it is embedded in a vaccine or a microchip or even in cryptocurrency but we seldom bother to inquire who the beast really is? If we identify the beast then we can narrow down on its mark (What is it known for, or a course it holds so dearly).
The book of Revelation 13:1-2 mentions that the dragon (satan) gave the beast his “power and great authority” and verse 18 says “… the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man…” we can immediately deduce from these verses that the beast is not satan (verse 2) and that the beast is human (verse 18). Before we begin, let’s familiarize ourselves with some prophetic symbols in the bible. The bible gives the meaning of all the symbols used in its prophetic books, you only need to look for them.
Here are some prophetic symbols found in the prophecy in focus:
- Beast represents a king or kingdom, see Daniel 7:17;
- Woman represents a church or a group of beleivers, see Jeremiah 6:2; Ephesians 5:22-25
- Horns also represents kings, see Revelation 17:12
Bearing the above representations in mind, read Revelation chapters 12, 13, 17 and 18 also read Daniel 7. You would notice that they all refer to the same beast power for they all describe it using similar attributes like ten horns, persecute the saints, speak “great things” or blasphemy, etc.
We will now highlight seven (7) keys to help you narrow down the identity of the beast.
- The beast has seven heads and 10 horns – Dan. 7:7; Rev. 13:1, 17:9. (Just google “the city on seven mountains”).
- It is both a political and religious power – Rev. 13:4, 17:3-6 (Can you think of any rulers in the world today with both political and religious authority? There are a couple of them.)
- It tried to change God’s “times and law” – Dan. 7:25 (It is public knowledge that the second and the fourth commandments have been tampered in some domains. The second was entirely removed from the ten, at least in some domains, while the fourth was tampered with in respect to “times”, when it is observed. Just google, “when did the Sabbath change from Saturday to Sunday”).
- It made war against the saints – Dan. 7: 21, 24; Rev. 13:7 (Just google “the dark ages history”).
- All the world wondered after the beast – Rev. 13:3-4 (Which one world leader does all other world leaders revere and obey?)
- He claims to be God on earth (“Holy Father”) and his ministers claim they can forgive sins – Mark 2:5-7; Rev. 13:1, 4-5; 17:3; Dan. 7:20, 25 (Which group of men do their followers go to confess their sins?)
- It is also a woman, “the mother of harlots” – Rev. 17:5 (Recall that woman = church, Revelation 12 tells of the pure woman, but Revelation 17, 18 are on the drunken woman).
There are many other identifiers but time and space would not permit them to be presented here. However, from the above, it is clear that the Bible unmistakably describes the beast and we hope you were able to figure it out.
